My advice, from experience of this, would be to get the long days out of the way in Scotland and the north of England - roads are much quieter and hills are less steep than Devon and Cornwall. How exciting. Good luck
thanks for the advice, Gwb... planning to taper off after the severn bridge; 100 miles to Barnstaple, then 70-odd to St.Agnes (staying with relatives and planning a p!ss-up!) then a quiet 40 mile roll-in to LE with a hangover to finish!
